As mentioned in the National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA) publication; in early adolescence, when children advance from elementary through middle school, they face new and challenging social and academic situations.  Often this period, children are exposed to abusable substances such as cigarettes and alcohol for the first time.  When they enter high school, teens may encounter greater availability of drugs, drug abuse by older teens, and social activities where drugs are used.  Therefore, intervention must start early.  Helping Kids to Recover is based in the community as an available resource to meet the needs of our adolescents age 12 to 21. Drug use among adolescents is becoming more and more common in recent years.  Helping Kids to Recover, Inc.’s activities are provided to educate youth through individual, group, and family counseling on an array of key topics, in an effort to direct and motivate youth to make healthy choices. We also offer prevention services to at-risk-youth in the most convenient location such as the local schools. By participating in our Outpatient Drug Free treatment program kids can learn practical ways to stay on the path of productivity.
